Shelley C. is a writer. Dr. Shelley C. Safian For more than 15 years, Safian has taught onsite and online courses in health care administration, health information management, and medical billing and coding. Safian also writes a monthly Q&A column for the online newspaper JustCoding and publishes many papers each year on various areas of coding. She is also the author of six textbooks. Safian is the chair of the continuing education committee for FHIMA (Florida Health Information Management Association). Her most recent book, Foundations of Health Care Administration, was launched in January 2014. She has previously served on the American Health Information Management Association's national, state, and local committees and practice councils. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P), a Certified Professional Coder (CPC-H, CPC-I), and an ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer.
