In the wilds of central Florida, Dillard was pampered as a child. She fled Florida after leaving her mother's protective arms to live in places including Washington, D.C., Vermont, and? She now has a two-hundred-pound husband and two ninety-pound Labrador retrievers, all of which are well-trained but still think of themselves as lapdogs. She is the author of numerous Star Trek(TM) books, as well as the acclaimed Diaries of the Family Dracul trilogy and the historical fantasy The Burning Times as Jeanne Kalogridis (her evil alter-ego).
