Massimo Bottura is the chef patron of Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, which has three Michelin stars. Massimo grew up in Modena and began cooking at a young age after observing his mother, grandmother, and aunt prepare family dinners in the kitchen. He dropped out of law school in 1986 to create his first restaurant, and went on to work as a stage chef for Alain Ducasse at Louis XV in Monte Carlo and Ferran Adriá at elbulli. In 1995, he opened Osteria Francescana.
