Kia Carrington-Russell was born in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia, and began writing as an angsty teenager, discovering a passion for exploring imaginative realities and world building at the age of fifteen. She wanted to pursue a career in freelance journalism after graduating from high school, but rapidly replaced that desire with something that made her heart race and her mind race-fiction. She went over her first work, Ownership of My Soul, with fresh eyes and started her publishing career in 2014. With her identifiable style of badass heroines, fast-paced action, and light-to-dark romance, she's been dubbed the new up and coming author to watch, and her writing style has been described as hauntingly beautiful. Carrington-Russell's works have been on a number of best-seller lists, most notably for her Token Huntress and My Escort series, for which she has received numerous accolades and positive reviews, including Reader's Favorite 5 star reviews for Token Huntress and The Shadow Minds Journal.

She is a firm believer in giving back to the literary community by sharing knowledge, promotions, and chances that may assist other authors in reaching their target audiences, including hosting her own YouTube channel, Bound by Books, where she interviews fellow authors and other industry professionals. Kia has spent years working in many businesses and climbing corporate ladders before settling into a full-time writing career as a successful author, and she is always looking for the next adventure. She's traveled the world for both business and pleasure, including spending the last year in Edinburgh, Scotland. Now that she's back in Australia, she walks her Cavoodle, Sia, along gorgeous coastline beaches in the mornings, creating worlds in the sea breezes and pondering where she'll go next.
