Mission to Horatius by Mack Reynolds

A facsimile edition of the very first Star Trek novel, which has been out of print for over 30 years. "Mission to Horatius" tells of Captain Kirk's mysterious mission to a primitive planet.

Dallas McCord Mack Reynolds was an American science fiction author who lived from 1917 until 1983. Dallas Ross, Mark Mallory, Clark Collins, Dallas Rose, Guy McCord, Maxine Reynolds, Bob Belmont, and Todd Harding were some of his pen names. His work is notable for its focus on socioeconomic speculation, which is frequently presented in thought-provoking investigations of Utopian society from a radical, sometimes satiric, standpoint. During the 1950s until the 1970s, he was a very popular author, especially among science fiction and fantasy magazine readers. Reynolds was the first author to publish an original novel based on the NBC television series Star Trek, which aired from 1966 to 1969. The book Mission to Horatius (1968) was written for children.
