* Sew *There are twelve carefully designed, beautifully made memory quilts. The quilts are a combination of fabric piecing and 'memory' items including knitted, fur and sari fabric. It is not a 'How to Do' book but one to inspire.
In preparation garments must be washed, cut into flat pieces and stabilised with starch or interfacing. Details like pockets and buttons should be saved.
Each quilt has a history, they reflect the varied heritages of their owners. There is a quilt with Arabesque tile shaped blocks and another has a stunning colourful Mandela. The design choices, patterns and arrangements are explained. 'Memory' items are not crowded together, they are well spaced apart.
I found it fascinating, it is my Book of the Month.
