She is the daughter of a poet/playwright and a librarian, and she has received various accolades, including the John W. For amazing literature, the Campbell Award, the World Fantasy Award, and Canada's Sunburst Award have all been given. Skin People, an award-winning collection of short stories, was included in the New York Times Summer Reading List in 2002 and was named one of the Best Books of the Year. The New Moon's Arms, The Salt Roads, Midnight Robber, and Brown Girl in the Ring are among Hopkinson's other works. She is a creative writing professor at the University of California, Riverside, and divides her time between the United States and Canada.
