Nagasaki, Nagasaki, Nagasaki, Nagasaki, Nagasaki, Nagasaki Suehiro Maruo was an avid comic book reader since he was a child. Shonen King and Shonen Magazine were among his favorite publications, and he hoped to be a manga artist. Maruo traveled to Tokyo at the age of 15 to work as a bookbinder at Toppan in Tokyo. He showed his work to edito at Shonen Jump when he was 17, but was informed it wasn't suitable for their adolescent viewers.
Following this, Maruo took a break from trying to publish his comics. With his work Ribon no Kishi, Suehiro Maruo made his debut as a manga artist at the age of 24.
