Paula Metcalf is a hugely talented illustrator with a growing reputation. She made up her mind to be an author and illustrator at the tender age of sixteen and later graduated from Anglia Polytechnic University with a First Class Honours degree in illustration and an MA in children’s illustration. Her graceful, beautifully lit artwork is influenced by dance and her love of Eastern European fairy tales. Paula was previously Illustrator-in-Residence at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Buckinghamshire, and runs popular workshops in schools. Her books for Macmillan include My Mummy, Rabbits Don't Lay Eggs and Charlie Crow in the Snow. Lucy Barnard grew up in a very artistic family and knew from an early age that she wanted to work in illustration. After graduating from the University of Plymouth with an illustration degree, Lucy worked in publishing for a time, before becoming a freelance illustrator and realizing her ambition of working on children’s books. My Mummy is Lucy’s first book for Macmillan.
