
Jim Kaplan is the author of 19 books, including Historic America: New England, Lefty Grove: American Original, and Golden Years of Baseball, among others. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Yale University and a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. He spent 16 years at Sports Illustrated after three years of covering sports for the Minneapolis Star, and then switched to freelance writing. Northampton and Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, are where he spends his time. This is Greg Spahn's debut book, and he is the only child of Hall of Fame pitcher Warren Spahn. He is a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
