Blackpool for some, like Detective Inspector Henry Christie, is a city of nightmares. One weekend generates a crime wave, including the murder of a prostitute, the wounding of a policewoman, a crazy car chase and the shooting of a gorilla. What he doesn't realize is that these incidents are linked.
Nick Oldham was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, in 1956. He has been a police officer since the age of nineteen, spending the majority of his service in operational roles. He is married and lives with his wife and son on the outskirts of Preston.
