No Variations by Luis Chitarroni

A dizzying look at the backrooms of literature, with petty squabbles, long-nurtured grudges, envied or undeserved prizes, failing publishers, and self-important critics, "The No Variations" is a serious game, or perhaps a frivolous tragedy.
A very rich and often engaging text.. Quite rewarding. Complete Review
Luis Chitarroni was born in Buenos Aires in 1958. He is a writer, critic, and editor, and has to date published two novels and two collections of nonfiction and critical writing. A. G. Porta was born in Barcelona in 1954. He gained prominence in the Spanish literary world when he won the Ambito Literario de Narrativa Prize in 1984 for a novel written with Roberto Bolano. After a silence of over ten years-which Bolano claimed that Porta spent reading and rereading Joyce-he began publishing novels to widespread critical acclaim.
