Nobody's Dog by Colin Dann
First published in 1999 for 9-12 year olds. How does it feel to be abandoned? To wake up cold and miserable, in a strange place where no-one even knows your name? This is what happens to a cross-breed collie when his family finds two dogs too much to cope with. Will he survive? And will he find a home where he is really wanted?Colin Dann was born in 1943 in Richmond, Surrey. Before gaining a career in publishing at William Collins in London, he worked for a huge textile company. At this time, he published his debut book, THE ANIMALS OF FARTHING WOOD, which was an instant hit, receiving the Arts Council of Great Britain's National Book Award for Children's Literature and being translated into sixteen languages. Six sequels and a prologue followed, and in 1992, BBC television broadcasted a major animation series based on the Farthing Wood story. He and his wife live in a house on the Sussex/Kent boundary.
