
Marjorie Wilkins Campbell (born 1901 in London, England; died November 23, 1986 in Toronto) wrote thirteen novels for adults and children, including The Quiet Song: A Tribute to a Reluctant Pioneer Mother (Fifth House, 1999). She has received two Governor General's Awards, the first in nonfiction for The Saskatchewan (1950) and the second in juvenile literature for The Nor'Westers (1954), as well as a Guggenheim Fellowship (1959) and a Member of the Order of Canada (1978).
