Nothing Simple by Lia Mills
When Ray left Ireland to follow Dermot to America, she had her doubts about moving. But Dermot convinced her that their future lay together and she was too young and too much in love to fight. So they settled in a hot and murky Texan suburb where nothing turned out to be quite what they hoped. Now, ten years and four children later, recession has taken the heart out of Texas. Dermot's career like their marriage has stalled, and he says that the family has to move back to Dublin. But Ray's not so sure that she is prepared to trust her husband's judgement this time. Then, as they get ready to leave, their daughter runs away. In the desperate hours that follow, Ray tries to figure out how she's ended up with a life that only starts to make sense when all that she loves is under threat.
Lia Mills was born in Dublin where she now lives with her family. She has also lived in London and in the USA. Her first novel, Another Alice was published in 1996.
