Frank Norris (March 5, 1870 – October 25, 1902) was an American journalist and novelist of the Progressive Era, whose fiction was mostly in the naturalist genre.[1][2][3][4][5] His famous works include McTeague (1899), The Octopus: A Tale of California (1901), and The Pit (1903).
