His work has been recognized and/or awarded by Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Big Thought, The University of North Texas, Texas Woman's University, PBS Education, Mountain View College, Tarrant County Community College, A.W. Brown Fellowship-Leadership Academy, The Hudson Foundation, the Dallas Education Foundation, the Dallas Community College District, The League for Innovation in the Community College, the Dallas Public Library, the Business Council for the Arts, the Writer's Garret, the Dallas Independent School District, The Dallas Institute for the Humanities, and the U.S. Department of Education, under the Obama administration.
