Ol' Middler Saves the Day by Timothy Weeks
A young proponent of the Dusseldorf school of photography and a master pupil of Thomas Ruff's, the artist Ralf Brueck (b. 1966) thematizes in his sophisticated, stringently composed works the architectural interior, the expanse of landscape, and modern architecture. The publication illustrates Brueck's genesis--which began with the series Timecapsules, created at the end of the 1990s and devoted to modern church buildings--and builds a bridge to his two new series, Distortion and Deconstruction.
Timothy A. Weeks is a panhandle native and graduate of Baylor University. After residing in New Orleans' French Quarter for several years, he worked for Teach For America in New York City. Living in Amsterdam, Brussels, Bangkok, Frankfurt, and Zagreb over the last ten years as a journalist, his writings range from high tech investment to restaurant reviews. His mother illustrated this book.
