Omega - The Last days of the World by Camille Flammarion

In the twenty-fifth century AD, a comet will collide with the earth and bring about the end of the world. Faced with this apocalyptic knowledge, humanity undergoes a multitude of social, physical and psychic changes that engender incredible alterations to both people and planet over many millennia. Beautifully illustrated, this novel is a fascinating vision of humanity millions of years in the future.

Nicolas Camille Flammarion, a French astronomer, was born on February 26, 1842 in Montigny-le-Roi (Haute-Marne) and died on June 3, 1925 in Juvisy-sur-Orge (Essonne). He was an active member of a number of scientific societies and organizations dedicated to spreading positive science. His scientific discoveries propelled him to the top of the French vulgarizers list in the twentieth century, bringing astronomy, terrestrial physics, and climate change to the general public's attention. He has added to his name's notoriety by the mystic and spiritual aspects of some of his works.
