Bradford Angier (1910-1997) was one of America's leading outdoorsmen. Born in Boston, he worked as a journalist before leaving the hustle and bustle of the East for a self-sufficient existence in British Columbia and, in later years, in the Arizona desert. The author of more than thirty books, including the immensely popular How to Stay Alive in the Woods, Angier shared his secrets to successful outdoor living, camping, and hiking with hundreds of thousands of readers. Lamar Underwood, formerly the editorial director of Sports Afield, is the author of many Lyons Press books, including Bowhunting Tactics of the Pros and Theodore Roosevelt on Hunting.
