Born in the Heartland of Virginia and a stone's throw from Appomattox Surrender Grounds, Kevin was raised on a steady diet of Civil War history and stories of families in struggle. He joined the United States Navy in the fall of 1978 and spent his early adult years aboard a United States Navy destroyer-USS Spruance DD-963-sailing the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Atlantic and Indian Oceans...visiting places like Pompeii, Paris, the planes of Kenya and recording his travels and personal experiences. In 1987 Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science from Kent State University and stepped onto the grid of corporate America. For the next twenty-five years Kevin worked in sales, insurance underwriting, incorporated and sold a business; the whole time finding opportunities to pilot aircraft, scuba dive, comb the beaches of North Carolina and write stories. Kevin has completed three novels to date-Operation Darksail, Cheat Mountain and Freedumb Ring-as well as numerous short stories and collections of poetry.
