Our Stories by Stephanie Snow

The history of our world-leading health service through the voices of the patients, nurses, doctors, porters and ordinary people who have turned it into the beating heart of our country.
'What shines through with all the stories is a deep affection for the NHS' -- Henry Marsh, author of Do No Harm
Stephanie Snow is Professor of Health, History and Policy at the University of Manchester. Since 2017, she has directed NHS at 70: The Story of Our Lives to create the first digital archive of NHS history and began working in partnership with the British Library to create a national archive of personal testimonies on the social significance of Covid-19. Stephanie is a regular contributor and historical consultant to radio and tv documentaries on health and medicine, including Call the Midwife and How the Victorians Built Britain.
