Partaking of God by Denis Edwards

Trinity, Evolution, and Ecology

“Written in clear, careful prose, this book makes an important contribution to the growing field of theology of natureBringing the wisdom of the early church theologian Athanasius into dialogue with recent evolutionary science, it opens new possibilities for Christian thought and practice. Besides the sharp insights on offer, Edwards’s own magnanimous vision moves the heart. The book is a gift, a beautiful theology of the world centered on the energizing presence of the triune God.”

            Elizabeth Johnson,  Fordham University

Denis Edwards has written prolifically in the areas of ecology and pneumatology. Partaking of God addresses questions concerning the evolution and ecology in the light of the theology of Athanasius of Alexandria. The book is written in a graceful, poetic style. Edwards explains complex ideas clearly and his insights are well worth both critical reflection and prayer.
