Pearinella by David Poland

Pearinella, an Alchemist from the French countryside, has given her life to unraveling the enigmas of the Great Art. Like the legendary> Fulcanelli, she has used the secret in Shakespeare's> King Lear to make the elixirs, but the deepest mystery of immortality still eludes her. At great cost, she has learned the missing key is in a document now hidden in a university archive. Her enemies follow her and pose as university employees. They shadow her every move to learn where the document is hidden. These counterfeit employees will stop at nothing to get her treasure.

David Poland worked in aerospace in LA and Boston. Pearinella, his first novel, engages the kind of people we find in any university, colliding with the kind of alchemy known to Sir Isaac Newton of England, and Fulcanelli of France.

Pearinella and her friends have read:
Shakespeare's, King Lear ( the Folger Library Paperback )
Fulcanelli's, Le Mystere des Cathedrals
& Manfred Junius's, The Practical Handbook of Plant Alchemy
