Barry Gross, a master woodworker and artist with over 30 years of experience, specializes in turning wood and other media, such as Corian - the kitchen countertop material - into stunning works of art and practical everyday goods. Barry, a gifted teacher who understands how to begin at the beginning, offers remedies to his own errors in the hopes of motivating newcomers to redesign rather than recycle. Barry is a member of the Scroll Saw Association of the World, the American Association of Woodturners, and the Bucks County Woodturning Association. Barry was just inducted into the prestigious Pen Manufacturers' Guild and is listed in Who's Who in the World in 2005. In New York, his work can be displayed at Island Earth Gallery, Langman Galleries, and Wylands Sae Life Gallery, among others.
In addition, he has accepted commissions from DuPont and the New York Aquarium's Alien Stinger exhibit. His finely turned pens are in high demand as gifts; his Stars and Stripes pen, for example, was recently given to House Speaker Dennis Hastert. Barry Gross is the author of Pen Turner's Workbook and Learn to Turn, as well as a regular contributor to Scroll Saw Workshop and Woodturning Design.
