Popcorn Palaces: Art Deco Movie Theat by M Kinerk
In the late 1920s, the design of movie theatres changed from huge, exotic edifices to smaller, Art Deco style buildings. Noted realist painter, David Cone, found his muse in these classic movie theatres and they are the subject of all of his paintings, 80 of which are reproduced in this volume.
Michael D. Kinerk, director of newsroom technology for the Miami Herald, is a long-time student of and writer about theatres and architecture. Vincent Katz is the archivist for the international architectural design firm, Arquitectonica.
