Bury St. Edmunds is where he was born. Edmunds is a town in England. James spent a lot of time traveling across the world. He was fired at in India, climbed Pyramids in Egypt and mountains in the Himalayas, was arrested by the authorities in Hawaii, fractured his neck in Australia, swam with beavers in Canada, and survived hypothermia, muggings, desert breakdowns, and being lost, among other things. Among other things, James has worked as a gardener, designer, teacher, real estate agent, researcher, tour guide, PA, and journalist.
The sound of leather on willow quickly distracts him, and he's moderately obsessed with Dachshunds and organic ponds. With his young family, James lived between the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire Moors. That motivated him to write in these gorgeous locations. James rowed the English Channel and the Thames's 21 tidal miles in 2013 to raise money for MND and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
