This book contains drills to make you a champion. By practising in this structured way you will sail faster, better and smarter and will ultimately win races.
Rick White: Rick White’s first sailboat was a Shark catamaran which he began racing in 1965. He then got into Tornadoes and Lasers in the late 1960s and early 1970s. As secretary of the Tornado class, he was instrumental in getting that baot accepted as an Olympic class. Rick has won more than 150 major championships, including nationals, North Americans and State and regional regattas on Sharks, Tornadoes and Hobies. Mary Wells began her sailing career in 1948 at the tender age of 6, when her parents started racing a Lightning and put her and her younger sister under the deck to keep them out of the way. She sailed Lightnings and Thistles through her teenage years until the family purchased a Shark catamaran in 1960. She has been hooked on cats ever since. She became a world champion in 1993, crewing for her sister Betty, when they won the Hobie 18 Women’s Worlds.
