God created Adam. Adam named the animals and wanted a female helpmate. So, God created Eve. Eve sinned by following the Serpent. Adam sinned by following Eve. This is the beginning of marriage, and it has been downhill since. This book looks at covenants and contracts to get a better understanding of marriage and divorce. God did not permit divorce in the beginning. Marriages were supposed to be for life. Because of the hardness of a man's heart, however, a man could put away an unfaithful wife. They abused this allowance and began divorcing for any reason. Women followed suit. Jesus tried to correct this application; however, believers are divorcing for any reason again.
