Rob Roy Macgregor: His Life And Times by Wh Murray

Rob Roy MacGregor, Scotland's most romantic, elusive hero, was an outlaw and a life-long enemy of Montrose. Murray brings together new interpretations of Rob Roy's life and times to produce a new understanding of the character, actions and motives of a man who became a myth and symbol of Scotland.
W.H.Murray, a Scotsman by birth, is the author of over twenty books, amongthem some of the finest contributions of modern times to the literatureof mountain travel and exploration, at home and abroad. His worksinclude The Story of Everest (1953), Maelstrom (1962), and The Islands of Western Scotland(1974). His awards include an honorary doctorate from the University ofStirling (1975), the OBE (1966), and the Mungo Park Medal of the RSGS(1950), the latter for exploratory travel in the central Himalaya.
