Ruud Gullit by Ruud Gullit

Gullit writes about all aspects of his professional and private life. He emphasises his personal crusade against apartheid and racism and his friendship with Nelson Mandela. The book includes much previously unrecorded material.

Ruud Gullit was born in the city of Amsterdam in the year 1962. He captained the Netherlands squad that won the European Football Championship in 1988 and competed in the World Cup in 1990. In 1987, he was crowned European Footballer of the Year, and in 1987 and 1989, he was named World Soccer Player of the Year. He went on to manage the LA Galaxy and various other teams after retiring from the field. He currently works as a broadcaster in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and the Middle East, where he often covers soccer events on television.
