Pearson Longman has published his textbook, The Mind's Eye: A Guide to Composing Poetry. The Literary Review's Charles Angoff Award has been bestowed upon him. The Greenwall Foundation awarded In the Evening of No Warning a publisher's grant by the Academy of American Poets. Clark is a professor at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
