For nearly 20 years, Lee Su Kim has been writing about Malaysia's folkways, enlightening readers with tidbits of Malaysian Flavours, the title of her first bookShe grew up in a world of sarongs ... colourful, crisp sarongs, starched till they could function as changing rooms when left to stand on their own...Whether Malaysian or foreigner, Lee's writings in Sarong Secrets, as in her previous Kebaya Tales, afford a delightful portrayal of peranakan men, women and children in their daily lives.
