For the past 32 years, Ronald B. Palma has taught Latin and other classical subjects at Holland Hall School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has an A.B. degree. Cornell University awarded him a B.A. in Classics and an M.A. in Classics. He received his Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Cincinnati, where he was supported by a Louise Taft Semple Fellowship. He co-wrote Ecce Romani: A Latin Reading Program (Prentice-Hall, 2005), which is currently in its third edition, and he was the series editor for Prentice-Hall's Review and Test Preparation Guide for the Starting Student and Review and Test Preparation Guide for the Intermediate Student.

Palma has won various scholarships and honors for teaching and scholarship, including Rockefeller and Fulbright funds, the Classical Society of the American Academy in Rome Summer Fellowship, and a Presidential Scholar Award from the United States. Department of Education, a Special Recognition Award from the College Board, and the American Philological Association's Excellence in Pre-Collegiate Teaching Award.
