The book is based on interviews from BBC Radio Scotlands major 1999 production of the same name.Colin Bell is a long-established writer and broadcaster. As a journalist he has worked for, and contributed to, many national broadsheet papers in England and Scotland. A passionate student of Scottish history and culture, he has been a parliamentary candidate for and Vice Chairman of the Scottish National Party as well as Rector of Aberdeen University and President of the Scottish Arts Club. For the last 14 years he has had his own regular programme on BBC Radio Scotland.
