Henderson is a frequent speaker at paddle exhibits and symposiums, as well as a prolific writer for magazines such as Wavelength, Canoe & Kayak, Sea Kayaker, and others. Dan is a world leader in writing, research, and understanding of kayak forward stroke efficiency. He is the co-author of the International Canoe Federation Coaching Manual (the world and Olympic regulatory body for kayak and canoe racing) and several papers on paddling technique, as well as a Master's candidate in Biomechanics with a emphasis on the kayak forward stroke. Dan has paddled approximately three times the length of the equator in his lifetime, a record he came close to breaking in the fall of 2008 while attempting to circle Vancouver Island.
