He is the author of articles and chapters on Seamus Heaney's poetry and is completing a monograph of Heaney titled Embedded Poetics. He is an assistant editor of the journal Clues and contributes to a variety of literary encyclopaedias and companions. ASHBY BLAND CROWDER is Peace Professor of English, American Literature and Humanities at Hendrix College in Arkansas, USA.
