A Season in Hell by Arthur Rimbaud

Written by Rimbaud at age 18 in the wake of a tempestuous affair with fellow poet, Paul Verlaine, "A Season in Hell" has been a touchstone for anguished poets, artists and lovers for over a century. This volume presents the text in French and English with photographs by Robert Mapplethorpe.

Arthur Rimbaud composed some of the most enduring poetry in global literature. He was a poet of logical revolts, sexual liberation, ardent modernist, Symbolist, and inspiration to beatniks, conceptual artists, and punks. From 1870 and 1875, he worked for only five years, during which time he penned his most famous prose poetry, Une Saison en enfer (A SEASON IN HELL, Green Landtern Publishing, 2010) and Illuminations. FESTIVALS OF PATIENCE: THE VERSE POEMS OF ARTHUR RIMBAUD (Kenning Editions, 2021) is his first book.
