Seven Gothic Tales by Isak Dinesen
The theme that runs through this collection is desire, from the imagination of Miss Malin Nat-og-Dag, a maiden lady of wealth and virtue who now believes herself to be the grand courtesan of her time, to Count Augustus, whose wife is so jealous that she cannot bear him to admire her jewels.
