During his lifetime, H. was almost completely disregarded by the mainstream media. P.Lovecraft is now regarded as one of the best writers of classic horror, on par with Lovecraft's master, Edgar Allan Poe. H.P. Lovecraft's work has been translated into over a dozen languages, and his stories have been adapted for film, television, and comic books, and he has gotten more scholarly attention than any other horror writer except Edgar Allan Poe.
