Sheltie And the Stray by Peter Clover
When a stray dog turns up in Little Applewood, Sheltie takes him under his hoof! Emma wants to keep the dog but her parents think he must have an owner somewhere. Emma sets out to find the owner and, when a nasty man turns up to claim the dog, Emma and Sheltie help it to run away. Emma searches for the dog and gets trapped in a collapsed drainpipe. Only Sheltie knows where she is, but he finally manages to persuade Emma's dad to follow him and together they rescue Emma and the dog.
Peter Clover works as an illustrator in an advertising agency and has recently begun to enjoy putting words to his pictures. He has illustrated non-fiction books in the past. The SHELTIE stories are his first fiction titles. Peter lives in Somerset.
