Brian Lavery is Curator of Naval History at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. He is the author of many books. As a highly respected maritime historian he was consultant on the film Master and Commmander, and consulted on the replica constructions of Captain Cook's Endeavour and the emigrant ship Susan Constant. Brian resides in Greenwich, London.
