Signs of the Wild by Clive Walker
This compact field guide to the identification of Southern African mammals based on their spoor, droppings and skulls has been accepted as the standard work on the subject. This edition offers up-to-date information on identification through signs. This edition provides new illustrations for a number of species. It also features illustrations of skulls for all of the carnivores. The 8-page section of comparative spoor is still a feature, updated with the most recent information available. It includes distribution maps (88 in all) and full-colour photographs (some 150) of each species within its habitat.Clive Walker is Professor of Criminal Justice Studies at the School of Law, University of Leeds. He has written extensively on terrorism and emergency issues, with many published papers not only in the UK but also in several other countries and has been a visiting professor at George Washington University, Melbourne University and Stanford University. In 2003, he was a special adviser to the UK Parliamentary select committee which was considering what became the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. He has also been called upon to provide advice to other UK and overseas Parliamentary committees on terrorism and to the UK Government's independent adviser on terrorism.
