Donald Sull is a global expert on strategy and execution in turbulent markets. Kathleen M. Eisenhardt is Professor of Strategy and Organization at Stanford University. She received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Brown University, holds an M.S. in computer science and received a Ph.D. from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. She also has several honorary degrees including from London Business School. She is the co-author (with Shona L. Brown) of Competing on the Edge: Strategy as Structured Chaos.

They have been working together on the ideas behind Simple Rules for over a decade.
