He has also written for The Guardian and The New Yorker and served as the editorial page editor for The Los Angeles Times. He contributes to Time magazine on a regular basis. Michael and his wife Patty Stonesifer, CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, currently reside in Seattle, Washington.
