The State of Indian Agriculture examines the present scenario of Indian agriculture and studies the trends at national as well as state level. The overall objective of the book is to analyze the impact of climate change on Indian agriculture and its implications for food security. The book recommends strategies to enhance productivity and the adoption of climate-smart practices to promote sustainable agriculture, thereby ensuring food security in India. It argues that there is an urgent need for a holistic and strategic approach to mitigate the challenges of climate change.
Sanjeev Kumar is working in the Department of Economics, University of Lucknow. He was previously working at Dyal Singh College (DSC), University of Delhi. He obtained his doctorate (Ph.D) in Economics from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. He also qualified UGC NET-JRF and SLET and was awarded junior and senior research fellowship from University Grants Commission, New Delhi, for his doctoral work. He has published several books and research papers in refereed journals and has done more than six major research projects from ICSSR, MHRD, NIAP-ICAR and Delhi University. His research interests are in the field of agricultural and rural development.
