This collection draws together a selection of poems that are both comic and grave. It contains two longer poems: one on the history of Europe, and another - "Stargazing" - which is a meditation on astronomy and the death of a father.John Fuller teaches English at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he is a fellow. He is a poet as well as a novelist. His anthology Stones and Fires won the Forward Award in 1996, and his Collected Poems was just published.
