Stories Hollywood Never Tells by Howard Zinn

In this informal talk recorded at the Taos Film Fesitival, Zinn turns his attention to Hollywood, the stories it tells and those it doesn't. He tells the stories of wars from the point of view of disillusioned deserters, of the differences between All Quiet on the Western Front and Saving Private Ryan and then goes on to discuss the Haymarket Affair, Eugene Debs and the real story of Helen Keller. A spellbinding and provocative speaker, Zinn enlarges our view of history in much the same way he did with the publication of A People's History of the United States.
Howard Zinn (1922-2010) was a world-renowned historian, author, playwright, and social activist best known for the perennially best-selling classic A People's History of the United States. His many highly acclaimed books include You Can't Be Neutral on a Moving Train; Three Strikes: Miners, Musicians, Salesgirls, and the Fighting Spirit of Labor's Last Century; and Three Plays--The Political Theater of Howard Zinn: Emma, Marx in Soho, Daughter of Venus.
