Stretched to the Limits by Rachel Fitz-Desorgher

Stretched to the Limits is the first book to detail the effects and implications of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome for pregnancy, birth and postnatally. It will empower midwives, doulas and their clients to advocate for the most informed and highest quality of care on that journey to parenthood.
Stretched to the limits is the missing link in information to families and health professionals alikeIt explains the effects of EDS on all the systems of the body, and as a health professional gave me insight and information that was vital to holistic care. -- Linda Ayres, Midwife
This book is a must-read for anyone with EDS, pregnant or not! I've learnt more from reading Stretched to the Limits than years of searching for answers from doctors and specialists. -- Josie Searle, Mother with EDS
This book is like no other textbook I have read before, it is both informative and reassuring. Offering clear explanations and recommendations for care. It is an essential read for health professionals and Doulas providing support to women with hEDS. -- Karen Mitchell, Infant Feeding Specialist, Birth & Postnatal Doula
Rachel Fitz-Desorgher worked as a midwife, active birth teacher and parenting consultant for over 30 years. Having retired from midwifery in October 2018, she now focuses all her attention on her parenting consultancy, writing and media work. She has hEDS, has raised four children, and wrote the online guide for women and healthcare professionals for EDS UK. Rachel is also the author of Your Baby Skin to Skin.
