Supermind:the Ultimate Energ by Barbara Brown

Barbara Brown, CO, Med, started her work as an orientation and mobility instructor before becoming an orthoptist and ophthalmic medical technologist. She has been committed to low vision care since 1976, and has assisted in the establishment of low vision clinics in Augusta, CA, Jacksonville, FL, and various ophthalmology practices in the Boston area. She has treated patients with low vision, trained ophthalmology residents and ophthalmic technicians about low vision, and contributed to the development of the JCAHPO(TM) certification examinations' low vision part. She has observed a huge growth in interest in low vision over the last 30 years and believes that the next generation of ophthalmic and optometric health care workers, in whatever position, will continue to be deeply concerned about the crippling effects of low vision and will be able to help their patients with compassion and skill. Brown is currently employed as a math teacher in the Boston region.

She is starting to recognize the needs of low vision youngsters after having multiple low vision classmates. And now that she is presbyobic, she is learning to understand the benefits of magnification even more!
